Roy Robson, 35, of Ambler is charged with three felonies in connection with the Monday, Nov. 7 bomb threat, the outlet wrote, citing a criminal complaint filed in county court.
Police in Lansdale Borough said a man later identified as Robson called 911 just after 3 p.m., claiming he had an explosive device on a northbound SEPTA train and that he "intended to blow the train up," the department said.
Authorities responded to the West Main Street Transportation Center and evacuated a SEPTA R5 commuter train without incident, police said.
Officers arrested Robson at the Pennbrook Train Station about an hour later, after investigators recognized his voice in a recording of the phone call, NorthPennNow.com reported.
State court records show Robson was arrested in June and charged with evading an officer, a misdemeanor. That case remains open.
Investigators said Robson he wanted to go to the hospital to receive mental health care, but his mom wouldn't give him a ride and a SEPTA train conductor denied him entry, according to the report.
He said he called in the threat because he was frustrated with the situation, the outlet wrote. Legal filings show Robson posted $20,000 bail and is due back in court for a preliminary hearing on Nov. 16.
